Our Team

Meet our beautiful team
of educators and support staff

I simply fell into my teaching career, but I’ll never forget the moment I realised the depth of my responsibility as a classroom teacher. I was keenly aware that each one of my students had their own individual personality and character, learning style, strengths and needs.  Establishing safe and nurturing relationships with each student is a natural and integral part of my practice. My training and experience have helped me develop a strong framework around which I am able to prepare and deliver effective, evidence-based instruction for our students at Educate.  I am continually looking for ways to refine the delivery of content, ensuring that it is efficient, effective and engaging – maximising the use of the small amount of time we have with our families each week.

My name is Alysia and I graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Corporate Governance. I am an Excel aficionado with a flair for elegant filing. Recently, I found a passion for literacy education and tutoring, inspired by my desire to help a loved one with dyslexia. I understand the unique learning nuances of neuro-diverse students and value personalized, student-centred learning.

My name is Juno and I am passionate about languages, literature and history! I would love to share this passion and inspire students to love learning. I am currently studying a Masters of Applied Linguistics in Monash University. My qualifications include Bachelor degrees majoring in English Literature and Education with History, Politics and Philosophy minors, as well as Geology, Archaeology and Humanities certifications from Jerusalem University College and Stanford Medicine. I also enjoy travel, food, and animals!

Hello, my name is Natalie. I have a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology and a Bachelor of Pharmacy with first class honours. I have worked as a sessional academic at universities for a number of years and have been home educating my son for 3 years. I have always enjoyed educating others and added to my qualifications by recently completing a Certificate IV in TESOL.

Helping others to learn and apply what they have learned to real life contexts is what drives me to educate. I tailor each lesson to the individual, paying particular attention to understanding how they learn and what makes sense to them so we can get the best results. In my spare time, I love to crochet and spend time in the garden.

Hello, my name is Caitlin! I have a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Ancient Civilizations, and I love teaching both Maths and English. Working with kids in a one-on-one or small group setting is something I really enjoy as I can truly get to know my students and tailor their lessons to each of them. A successful lesson with me would end with my student feeling more confident in their abilities and being excited about learning. Another one of my passions is arts and crafts of all kinds, but especially jewelery making!

Hello, I’m Charlotte! I am graduating from a Bachelor of Medical Research in 2025 and hoping to study a Master of Teaching (secondary) specialising in science and maths in 2026.

I am super excited to join the team at Educate Tutoring! Tutoring is something I find genuinely fun, fulfilling and rewarding. I love to learn, and it is a great way for me express and utilise that to support students to reach their goals, discover what they are capable of and build confidence in their abilities.

In our sessions, students can expect to feel, supported, motivated and encouraged to tackle challenging topics. I bring patience and clarity to every lesson, helping students break down complex ideas into manageable steps.

Outside of tutoring, I love keeping active! I play netball and do athletics. I also love to bake! My experience in the workforce as a disability support worker and a manager at KFC has allowed me to develop so many skills such as leadership, time management, communication, adaptability, and how to stay calm and supportive under pressure. I will utilise this skill in my tutoring sessions and carer as a teacher in the future.

Hi, I’m Kashish! I moved from Brisbane to Hobart last year to study Biomedicine at the University of Tasmania, with plans to continue into medicine. I love helping people make sense of tricky concepts, whether it’s science, maths, study skills, or figuring out how to stay on top of everything (yes, I’m a serial list-maker).

As an Educator, I enjoy creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. In our lessons, we tackle tricky ideas step by step, with encouragement, practical tips, and maybe a laugh or two along the way.

When I’m not studying, you’ll probably find me baking, exploring Hobart’s markets and trails, or hunting down the best coffee spots in town. My goal is for students to leave each session not just understanding the content, but feeling confident, capable, and ready to take on whatever comes next.

I am a secondary school teacher with additional qualifications in English as an Additional Language and Spalding Education MILA1 Literacy course. My background is working in international schools and being fully engaged in teaching English as a Foreign Language, Outdoor Education, and guiding student-led Environmental Committees.

I love working with Educate Tutoring and using my literacy and language skills to help any student I am lucky enough to work with. I fully invest in my students and love being a part of a person’s progress. Witnessing that ‘a ha’ moment is so rewarding, no matter how long it takes.

I am passionate about teaching, nature, environmental sustainability and outdoor activities. I am most happy when I can incorporate all of these elements into my life. Tasmania is a great place to make this happen!

Fun fact – I have spent over 3 years living aboard a sailing yacht.

I love the water and ocean, and any activity that includes being in, on or around it! My passion for teaching began at a young age when I was inspired by an enthusiastic, caring, and often unorthodox, but highly successful high school teacher.  “I can’t do this”, were words never allowed. There were always alternatives to solve any problem, make sense of any Maths formula, and always masses of encouragement to find different ways of learning.  This “think-outside-the-box” approach has stayed with me my entire career and I love finding new and different ways for students to learn. I graduated from university in 1991 and taught for several years across a diverse range of ages and disciplines but settled on working in developing students’ literacy and numeracy skills. I love seeing a student experience the joy of success. I feel everyone deserves to achieve to the best of their ability, and that I, as their tutor, have a responsibility to ensure they do so. It is so rewarding to be able to work at Educate Tutoring with a dynamic and committed team of educators who love nothing more than to see the students – child/young adult/adult –  gain a love for learning and therefore, flourish and shine!

Hi my name is Matilda and I’m a second year medical student!

I have a passion for teaching and educating in a compassionate and positive way for students to foster a similar love of learning that my education has instilled in me.

I love to tutor because of my experience of being a student and being someone in an educating role. In both of these circumstances I found joy and pride in the collaborative process of learning and am passionate about fostering a similar atmosphere for the students I tutor.

Students can expect a warm, positive and encouraging environment where they are able to ask questions openly and work through academic hurdles. My aim is to make every student I work with feel accomplished and proud of themselves and their efforts after every tutoring session and encourage them to pursue learning in a way that they find fun and enjoyable.

Aside from tutoring I also love reading, music and animals!

Hello! My name is Rachelle. I grew up on the far south coast of NSW and moved to Hobart this year to study Biomedicine at the University of Tasmania. I’m thoroughly excited to be a part of Educate Tutoring! I am passionate about education and love to tackle new challenges. I aspire to assist students in gaining confidence, building new skills and extending their knowledge through developing relationships that allow students to feel comfortable and supported enough to empower their curiosity and flourish.

I have always loved the beach (even though it’s very cold down here) and making art. Recently, I have taken a shining to cooking (I’m not particularly talented in this area, but I’m working on it!) and bird watching (especially pigeons, I believe them to underappreciated in today’s climate)!

I’m currently a second-year medical student with a keen interest in specializing in paediatrics. Beyond my studies, I have a passion for teaching, especially in the areas of English, mathematics, chemistry and music.

My journey into tutoring started with my own love for learning. I find joy in making complex concepts more accessible and enjoyable for students, helping them see these subjects not just as schoolwork, but as tools for understanding the world. I chose to work with Educate Tutoring because it’s a place that supports innovative teaching methods and truly cares about the individual growth of each student.

In our sessions, students can expect a friendly, supportive, and focused environment where we will tackle their academic challenges together. I aim for students to gain more than just academic knowledge; they will acquire the skill of learning itself, which transcends the classroom. My goal is to make each session both enjoyable and enriching, equipping them with the tools to think critically and express their ideas clearly.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy traveling, playing football, surfing, and writing music. These hobbies help me bring creativity and energy into every lesson, making learning engaging and fun.
